Many people assume that the next Driver game will be called Driver 5. Based on the evidence uncovered by fans though, it seems unlikely. Presumptively, the actual proper name is Driver 4. Illustrated below is a definable image from Driver: Parallel Lines that clearly shows that the next Driver will be Driver 4.



Now, it's not written in stone that the name of the next Driver must be Driver 4. It could conceivably be called Driver: Parallel Lines 2 or even Driver: New/random subtitle. What lessens the chance of the two previous titles being used though is the fact that Reflections decided to put such an unequivocal easter egg in DPL. Click here to watch the video interview with Production Manager Gareth Edmondson in which he answers the question "This isn't Driver 4 right?" with the straightforward response "No, this is called Driver: Parallel Lines; we wanted to get away from the idea that this was just a sequel and so on" Large and well known videogame websites such as IGN and Gamefaqs/Gamespot also have the next game in the series simply titled Driver 5. These sites aren't providing the wrong information, instead there just taking the easiest route. The reasoning for this is simple, the next Driver has not (as of this writing) been officially announced by Ubisoft yet. Therefore, the media has no real grounds for what the real name will be so they just call it Driver 5 since it's the 5th game in the series. (Not counting spin-offs of course) In addition, some individuals who upload their videos on Youtube or Daily Motion headline their Driver: Parallel Lines videos as Driver 4, they are simply wrong.
